Quarterly Direct Service Provider's Meeting

The Partners Ending Homelessness Initiative’s Continuum of Care Action Team will host its’ Quarterly Direct Service Provider's meeting. The purpose of the Direct Service Provider Network is to increase frontline staff’s ability to access resources in a more efficient manor, expand awareness and access of services available in Guilford County, provide training opportunities, and to create an ongoing resource network of direct service providers. The training topic for the quarterly meeting will focus on Preventing & Managing Compassion Fatigue & Burn Out.

This workshop will teach staff how to understand and recognize symptoms and when and what strategies and skills to implement in order to address issues as they arise. Effectively managing compassion fatigue and burn out positively impacts high turnover, chronic absenteeism, friction between management & employees, conflict between employees, and unreasonable resistance to changes. Prevent burnout & re-energize your compassion!

Building Housing First into Guilford County’s Homeless System

A workshop designed to provide service providers technical assistance in establishing Housing First models. Kay Moshier McDivitt, Vice President for Programs for Tabor Community Services will present Developing Strategies to End Homelessness: The Lancaster County Model. This informative presentation will focus on best practices in housing counseling and choice, rapid re-housing, homeless assistance and “housing first” programming. Participants will gain a better understanding of how to develop strategies to engage landlords and increase funding opportunities in implementing Housing First in our community.
