Volunteer Opportunities
... "homelessness cannot be addressed by only one entity ... it take the community ..."
There are many ways for you to get involved. Find a way to take action. A few suggestions include:
- Volunteer with a Partner - Volunteer Center of GSO
- Make a housewarming gift basket
- Join a Community Partnership Action Team
- Become a member of the provider coalition
- Advocate
- Donate to Partners Ending Homelessness
We are so grateful to all the community members who volunteer their time to the issues of homelessness. In 2010:
- Over 550 volunteers participated in 38 community education and training opportunities throughout the year
- Over 4,500 individuals attended informational presentations or community events led by or assisted by volunteers
- 22 action team meetings were held with over 380 volunteers
- 500 individuals and families received furniture and household items through various community furniture drives
- Over 400 housewarming baskets created by volunteers were collected and distributed to individuals and families moving out of homelessness and into housing
